A busy day is a happy day

"A busy day is a happy day," or so Just William was told in an aphorism one Christmas morning. Unfortunately for him, his attempts to be busy just led to the inevitable disasters; I am happy to say that our efforts were a somewhat more successful - though I can't tell how how exhausting I am finding it watching Stephen do things.

After a trip up to Leyburn yesterday to see Stephen's mum and sister, Jackie, it was back to house business today. Stephen made two trips to the dumpit site after clearing out the shed and disposing of more things from the garage. He also found time for a haircut and to collect the dogs from the groomers, where Harry has been shorn ready for his trip to Italy and the hot weather. He is, if I am allowed to be biased, looking even more handsome - let's just hope it does not go to his head.

As for me, after a spot of light dusting I took Bella and Harry to the dog groomers - the wonderful ladies at PoshPaws who have looked after our dogs with so much love and care. Thank you! Then it was on to the polling station before having my hair cut, shopping, dentist and post office.

Once home, we headed in tandem to the solicitors to sign the documents ready for the exchange of contracts (so completion next Friday looks promising) before taking yet more boxes of stuff into Ramsbottoms and leaving them at Jessie Mae's vintage shop. May they go to good homes.

Now, after more clearing out Stephen is preparing his special oven chips ready for our supper guests. They are getting other things as well but the chips will be the best bit.

And that just leaves us to get ready for tomorrow - and the reason for the haircuts...
