Staying ahead of the pack

It is proving to be something of a quiet week as we are at the waiting stage: waiting for permanent residency; waiting for the car; waiting to sign for the house. Just to keep things rolling, therefore, here are a brief update, an observation and a query.

Update:
Stephen is like a cat in muck, or a pig that’s got the cream, as he is visiting Pitti Uomo today in Florence. I hadn’t realised before I saw it on the news how very big a deal this is, thinking when he has mentioned it before that it was just a bit of a trade show and not the defining event for men’s fashion. Fortunately, he was on trend, or so he told me, in his long black t-shirt and glittering skull embossed trainers. Lesser mortals, like Luca, could only trail in his wake in jeans and white polo.

Elsewhere, I took the chance, while he was away, to prove I can sort of manage on my own by going to the pub for a coffee and digestif – though I’m not sure Stephen’s standing with the men of the town will be what it was when the word gets round that I was out on my own and someone paid for my drinks…

Observation:
We have been here for one calendar month today, and in all of that time I have not seen Cheryl Cole in any Italian magazine. Do they not know who she is?
Query:
If Betty’s dad had not made her break up with Jimmy, would he have taken more care on that rainy night and lived to become a Republican presidential candidate?
